CYCA Sydney to Hobart Asterisk Voip Case Study
CVT Networks saves the Crusing Yacht Club of Austarlia $1000's every Christmas in the running of the Sydney to Hobart yach race.
CVT was originally brought in by a telco to assist in replacing the CYCA's legacy commander pabx with an Asterisk based VoIP PABX with a mind to utilising its exta capabilites to provide enhanced services for the support of Austalias'a premier blue water race the annual Sydney to Hobart yacht race.
As part of the intial Asterisk install we assisted the telco in migrating the site from pstn services to a primary rate isdn service as part of the asterisk solution.
For the running of this international sporting event the addtional voice services required for media requirments and public enquiries for the month of December is an additional 200% capacaity of distributed both in Sydney & Hobart . The provisioning of this extra capacity was traditionally outsourced to one of the major Australian telcos.
However utilising the flexibility of the Asterisk PABX and it's native voip support we have for the last two years been able to save the CYCA considerable operating costs whilst providing far greater voice functionality, including routing of calls between sydney & Hobart via VoiP, the ability to record any phone conversation and the access the associated voice file via web browser.
